The fragrance is described as fresh and clean, with light, energetic top notes of rosemary, fresh water and the ocean. The heart blends sequoia wood and cardamom. Patchouli and musk are featured in the base.
The fragrance is presented in a smooth, rectangular glass/acrylic flacon. The bottle is transparent, with red accents, to denote energy.
The face of Dolce&Gabbana The One Sport is Adam Senn, a D&G house model since 2007. He appeared in the GYM Fall-Winter collection of 2011, alongside model David Gandy.
“[Senn’s] athletic body and persona made him the perfect choice to represent the fragrance,” explained Domenico Dolce. “He perfectly embodies the strength, determination and spirit of The One Sport,” added Stefano Gabbana. “I believe I can represent ‘The One Sport’ in a spontaneous and natural way,” noted Senn. “Sports are a part of my daily life – I owe credit to sports for the well-being of my body, mind and image.”
The ad campaign was shot by Peruvian photographer Mariano Vivanco, who portrayed Senn as a modern-day gladiator. “In the campaign, we wanted to express the mythic meaning of sport, using the Olympic Games of ancient Greece and the Roman concept of mens sana in corpore sano as a reference,” explained Gabbana. “Basically, the campaign represents sports as a part of a healthy lifestyle,” added Dolce.
